Nook - Privacy Policy

Nook is a personal wall for the quotes, images, and moments you want to keep. It is built to be private by default: everything you put into Nook stays on your iPhone. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what that means.

The short version

• We do not run a server. Nook has no backend that receives your content.
• We do not collect analytics. There is no third-party analytics or tracking SDK.
• We do not show ads.
• We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to anyone.
• Everything you save — your name, email, nooks, notes, photos — lives on your device.

What Nook stores on your device

Your account (optional). If you sign in with Apple, we save the identifier Apple returns and, if you chose to share them, your name and email. If you sign up with an email address, we save the name and email you typed. This information is written to your iPhone's local storage (an App Group container) and never leaves the device. You can remove it at any time from You → Account → Delete Account inside the app.

Your content. Every nook you create — the quote text, the author, your personal note, the photo you attached, the collection you filed it under — is stored on your iPhone. Photos you attach are copied from your photo library into Nook's private storage; the originals in your library are untouched.

Your settings. Font preferences, sort order, and other in-app choices are stored on your iPhone via Apple's UserDefaults.

iCloud backup, if you enable it. If iCloud Backup is on for your iPhone (a system-wide iOS setting Apple provides, not something Nook controls), your device backup can include Nook's data. That backup is encrypted end-to-end by Apple and governed by Apple's iCloud terms, not this policy.

What Nook does NOT do

• No account is created on any remote server.
• No email address is sent anywhere.
• No usage statistics, session data, or crash reports are collected by Nook or shared with third parties. (Apple may collect anonymous crash data via iOS's built-in mechanism if you have opted in system-wide; that data flows to Apple, not to us, and we do not receive it.)
• No advertising identifier is read.
• No location data is read.
